But being the health-conscious consumers that we are, what we don’t love is a plant-based diet that is devoid of critical nutrients or filled with heavily-processed and artificial ingredients. If you’re one for meat or dairy alternatives, you may feel like your options are just that, since many of the alternatives currently stocked in stores and being marketed to you today contain unfamiliar ingredients.

HOW MEATI CAN FILL PROTEIN GAPS IN YOUR DIET
It’s important to get enough protein in your diet, but it’s extra important to get the right types of protein. Proteins are made up of building blocks called amino acids, and there are 20 amino acids in total. Since 11 are produced naturally by the body, that leaves 9 essential amino acids that you need to obtain from your food to optimally fuel your body.
And while our bodies are capable of using different amino acids in incomplete proteins that we eat to build proteins in our bodies, and there are some plant-based sources of complete proteins to eat, it’s not easy on a plant-based diet to make sure your body is getting everything it needs.

For example, it is estimated that over 90% of Americans are lacking adequate fiber in their diets, and less than 3% of Americans achieve the recommended daily intake of potassium. Watching your zinc intake is also important, as it can support a healthy immune system.
One nutrient of particular importance is vitamin B12, since this incredible vitamin helps support bone and blood health, but is challenging to get enough of on a plant-based diet. A Meati Steak is packed with 17 grams of complete protein, and contains 2 grams of net carbs, making it perfect for a plant-based keto diet, or for anyone looking for a low-carb, meatless meat. Vegan? No problem, our Meati Steak uses no animal byproducts.
And anyone else looking for more potassium, zinc, and fiber in their diet? Those are three more areas where Meati shines. We choose to skip these questionable ingredients because our products just don't need this stuff in order to taste good.
